Scholarship Donations

Harry Jackson Scholarship

4 Awards for a total of $13,000 (Minimum award $3,000, Max $4,000)
The Harry Jackson Scholarship is created for students who have earned a letter in the WSU football program.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must have earned a WSU letter in football, be classified as a junior and be in good standing
at Winona State University with a minimum G.P.A. of 3.2 (4.0 = A).
3. Each recipient must meet all of the requirements as stipulated by conference and national organization eligibility rules.

Madeo & Rosemary Molinari Student Athlete Scholarship

1 Award for $5,000
The Madeo & Rosemary Molinari Student Athlete Scholarship is created to encourage, recognize, and support outstanding student football players who are currently enrolled at WSU and participate in the WSU Football program to help finance their continuing education and participation in football at WSU.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time at Winona State University/
12 credits per semester for 3 consecutive semesters.
2. Each first-time recipient must be classified as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior and be in good standing
at Winona State University with a minimum G.P.A. 2.75.
3. Each recipient must letter in Winona State Football and each recipient shall be in good standing
with Winona State University and Winona State Football.
4. Failure to meet these criteria will result in an immediate termination of this scholarship.
Any unused funds shall be paid back to the Foundation to be re-awarded hereunder.

Jerry Seeman Scholarship

1 Awards for $1,000
The Harry Jackson Scholarship is created for students who have earned a letter in the WSU football program.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time (minimum 12 credit hours) at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must be classified as a sophomore, junior, or senior and be in good standing at Winona State University with a
minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.

Gil Kraft Teacher Education Football Scholarship

1 Award for $1,000
The Gil Kraft Football Teacher Education Scholarship was created to encourage and support student athletes who participate in the WSU Football Program and are majoring in Education, helping to defray tuition costs and to enhance the Football Program that is a part of the quality athletic tradition at WSU.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must an undergraduate student enrolled full-time (min. 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring) at WSU.
2. Each recipient must be a member of the Winona State University Football team.
3. Each recipient must be in good standing at WSU
4. Each recipient must be classified as a Sophomore, Junior or Senior when they are originally selected and be in
good standing at Winona State University with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.75 (4.0 = A)
5. Each recipient must be a declared major in Winona State University's Elementary Education or Secondary Education Program.
6. Each recipient must have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program.
7. Each recipient must demonstrate need through the Financial Aid Office.
8. Each recipient must write an essay describing his or her current and future goals along with a short biography.

Deanovic/Meisner Athletic Scholarship

1 Awards for $1,250
The Deanovic/Meisner Athletic Scholarship is created to encourage and support students who participate in
the men's basketball and football programs at WSU.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must be classified as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior.
3. If an incoming freshman is selected, the student must have participated in either
football or basketball during high school and must have the potential for
participating as an active member of either the WSU men’s basketball or football team.

Brad Hompe Football Scholarship

1 Award for $500
The Brad Hompe Football Scholarship is created to encourage and support students who participate on the WSU Warriors Football team.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be a member of the Winona State University Football team
2. Each recipient must be in good standing at WSU with an overall G.P.A. of 2.75 or greater
3. Each recipient must be classified as a sophomore, junior or senior
4. Preference will be given to student who is majoring in Criminal Justice

Schott Distributing Football Scholarship

1 Awards for $600
The Schott Distributing Football Scholarship is created to provide scholarship funds for WSU's Football program helping defray tuition costs for student-athletes' education, and to enhance the Football program that is a part of the quality athletic tradition at WSU.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be a member of WSU Football team.
2. Each recipient must be a Sophomore, Junior or Senior enrolled full time at WSU
3. Each recipient must have a G.P.A. of 2.5

Henry Walski IT Scholarship

1 Award for $1,600
The Henry Walski IT Scholarship was established to encourage and support students in the Department of Education
and WSU Football program/member of men’s or women’s sports.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be a declared Education major
2. First preference will be given to a WSU Football player majoring in Education/then a member of any men’s or women’s sport
3. Each recipient must be classified as a junior and be in good standing at WSU with an overall
G.P.A. of 3.0 and a program G.P.A. of 3.0 (4.0=A))
4. Each recipient must be enrolled full time at WSU.
5. Each recipient must submit a one to two page essay describing why they have chosen
Education as a major and what their future professional goals/objectives are.

Warrior Football Scholarship

Funds Available: $4,000
The Warrior Football Scholarship is created to encourage and support students in the Department of Education who participate in the WSU Football program and to advocate Alumni to become part of the Warrior Football Scholarship. 130K on a matching fund basis.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time in good standing at Winona State University (minimum of 12 credits per semester, Fall and Spring)
2. Each recipient must be a member of the Winona State University Football team.
3. Each recipient must be classified as a sophomore, junior, senior, 5th or 6th year student.
4. Each recipient must maintain a minimum overall G.P.A. of 3.0 (4.0 = A)

Glenn E. Galligan Memorial Scholarship

1 Award for $400
The Glenn E. Galligan Memorial Scholarship is created for students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Preference will be given to a WSU football player.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must have a 3.0. G.P.A.
2. Each recipient must be classified as a sophomore, junior or senior and have full time status.
3. Preference will be given to a WSU football player.
4. Financial need as determined by the FASFA report.

Arnold & Clara Haake Scholarship

Funds Available: $8,500
The Arnold & Clara Haake Scholarship is created to encourage and support students seeking a degree in engineering, science, or mathematics at WSU. Each recipient must be a member of the WSU football, basketball, or baseball teams.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate student enrolled as a full-time at WSU/12 credits per semester
2. Each first-time recipient must be classified as a:Sophomore or Junior and be in good standing at WSU with a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5. (4.0 =A)
3. Each recipient must have financial need.
4. Each recipient must be a declared engineer, science or mathematics major.
5. Each recipient must be an active member of football, basketball or baseball.
6. Each recipient must submit a one to two page essay describing: Excellence in engineering, science or
mathematics as demonstrated by grades or original work/creativity.
7. Each recipient must have the ability to communicate and interact with people, demonstrated: verbally, academics, original works or creativity.
8. Each recipient must be employed.

Dr. Robert Gray Biology/Ecology Scholarship

2 Awards for $2,250 Each
The Dr. Robert Gray Biology/Ecology Scholarship is created to encourage and support student athletes studying ecology, evolutionary biology,
and/or ecological sciences in the Department of Biology, College of Arts and Sciences at WSU.

*Criteria*
1. A student athlete (preferably football or wrestling) enrolled full-time in good standing at Winona State University.
2. A Major in Biological Sciences, preferably planning on pursuing a graduate education in ecology/evolutionary biology.
3. Demonstrated strong academic achievement, as evidenced by a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Jeff & Alison Kusch Scholarship

1 Award for $750
The Jeff & Alison Kusch Scholarship was created to support a student-athlete in the Warriors Football program, who is also pursuing a degree in Accounting, with the hopes that his experience at WSU might also be shared for students pursuing a degree in Accounting.

*Criteria*
1. Scholastic Standing at Winona State: In consideration for the Jeff & Alison Kusch Scholarship, each candidate must be enrolled
as a full-time student (12 credits/semester min.) and in good standing at Winona State University.
2. Campus Affiliation: The scholarship is to be awarded to a member of the WSU Warriors Football program.
3. Academic Affiliation: The Jeff & Alison Kusch Scholarship is to be awarded annually to a student-athlete (football)
pursuing a degree in Accounting. Only in the event that no candidates meet this qualification, will the criteria be
expanded to include student-athletes (football) pursuing other majors within the WSU College of Business.

Jerry & Jo Stejskal Football Scholarship

No Funds Available
The Jerry & Jo Stejskal Football Scholarship is created to provide assistance to promising students who are athletes within the WSU Football Program.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be an undergraduate, junior or senior enrolled full at WSU.
2. Each recipient must maintain a G.P.A. of 3.0.
3. Preference will be for a qualified applicant who demonstrates the greatest financial need.
4. Each recipient must be a student athlete within the WSU Football program.

Larry & Serena Holstad Athletic Scholarship

4 Awards for $2,500 Total ($500 min - $1,000 max)
The Larry & Serena Holstad Athletic Scholarship was set up to provide financial assistance to both the men and women’s athletic programs.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be a student enrolled full-time in good standing at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must be classified as an eligible student athlete in Football, Softball, Soccer or Track & Field.

John & Mia Martin Athletic Scholarship

$1,000
In April 2015, the Martin family established The John & Mia Martin Athletic Scholarship as an annual/endowed fund in the Winona State University Foundation. The purpose of the fund is to encourage and support student athletes at WSU.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must be a student entering his or her Junior or Senior year at WSU.
3. Each recipient must have a G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher. (4.0 = A)
4. Each recipient must be a student athlete on the Warrior football team.
5. Each recipient must demonstrate financial need; however, financial need will not be based solely on FAFSA.
6. Each recipient should demonstrate “Warrior Values” through leadership and strong character.

Charlson Family Warrior Leaders Scholarship

1 Award for $3,000
The Charlson family established The Charlson Family Warrior Leaders Scholarship as an annual/endowed fund in the Winona State University Foundation. The purpose of the fund is to encourage and support student athletes who are in the football program at WSU who show leadership in the classroom. Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated leadership in the classroom, in the community or in athletics. Preference will be given to a student majoring in an academic discipline within the College of Business.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must be a student entering his or her Junior or Senior year at WSU.
3. Each recipient must have a G.P.A. of 2.75 or higher (4.0 = A).
4. Each recipient must be a student athlete on the Warrior football team.
5. Each recipient must demonstrate financial need; however, financial need will not be based solely on FAFSA.
6. Preference will be given to a student who has demonstrated leadership in the classroom, in the community or in athletics.
7. Preference will be given to a student majoring in an academic discipline within the College of Business.

Robert Keister Scholarship

1 Award for $3,900
To encourage and support students involved in the Winona State University Football program.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be in good standing at Winona State University
2. Each recipient must have full time status.
3. Each recipient must be an offensive or defensive lineman on the WSU football team.

Illinois Warrior Football Scholarship

1 Award for $1,350
The Illinois Warrior Scholarship was created to provide scholarship funds for Winona State University to encourage and support student athletes who participate in the WSU Football Program, helping defray tuition costs and to enhance the football program that is a part of the quality athletic tradition at Winona State University

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be a member of the Winona State University Football team.
2. Each recipient must be from Illinois.
3. Each recipient must be in good standing at WSU.
4. Each recipient must write an essay describing their current and future goals along with a short biography.

Chris Melillo Warrior Football Scholarship

1 Award for $500
The Chris Melillo Warrior Football Scholarship was created to support student athletes who participate in the WSU Football Program.

*Criteria*
1. Each recipient must be enrolled full-time and in good standing at Winona State University.
2. Each recipient must be a member of the Warrior Football team.
3. Each recipient must be NCAA academically eligible to compete in Football.
4. There is no financial need requirement for this award.
5. Preference would be to award this scholarship to a freshman or junior college transfer to be renewed for that
player should he meet the criteria set forth by the Head Football Coach.
